New to ENDADA this year…Poverty and the Arts
“Established in 2014, Poverty and the Arts (POVA) is a nonprofit social enterprise, based in Nashville, TN, that provides people impacted by homelessness with access to creative resources and an artistic platform to enhance their quality of life. POVA also highlights the creative talents of people impacted by homelessness in order to broaden perspectives and foster meaningful and equitable relationships across communities.
POVA has a wide range of original artwork, jewelry, and craft items available by 19 different artists. POVA also creates merchandise reproductions in the form of coasters and greeting cards that sell for $5 each. You can find and purchase these unique items at PovertyandtheArts.org!
By purchasing original artwork and merchandise by a POVA artist impacted by homelessness, customers offer that artist an opportunity to earn meaningful and legal income through their creative talent. Artists earn 60% of original artwork sales and 25% of reproduction merchandise sales with their designs. POVA reinvests its earned income back into the organization to continue to provide art supplies, space, education and exhibition opportunities to the artists.”
